To enjoy the short lived pleasant weather of Dubai , alfresco dining & addiction to great ambiance along with variety of restaurant options,all this took us to Century Village for the third time.

The afternoon was quite comfortable to sit outside but the Indian melodies inside the restaurant and calm atmosphere was the reason we opted to dine inside the restaurant.
The restaurant management aims to make it a popular spot which is not only family friendly but at the same time caters to the office crowd from the surrounded areas at lunch time.

The food has perfection in taste. Spicy shots of pani puris were served to start with.
Our drinks were Shirley Temple, a mix of grenadine & sprite. Variety of Mocktails & fresh juices are also available.

In soup we tried Clear Tomato & Lemongrass flavor Soup called Thakeli Rasam.

For starter Andhara Chicken was our best selection with bite size soft battered chicken pieces coated with spices.

Non Veg Platter had delicious assorted two pieces each of Lasooi Tikka, Pahadi Seekh, Hariyali Machli, Chicken Papdi, Shami Kebab, Koliwada Jheenga, Rawa Fish.

For mains we had Goan Fish Curry with its special Goan styled recipe. It gives more delight along with a basket full of assorted freshly baked & flavored Chappatis & Naans.

The best item We tried here was the outstanding flavors and perfectly done Hyderabadi Kachi Gosht Ki Biryani. Do try this flavorsome, aromatic biryani with soft lamb pieces.

From drooling desserts menu we opted for Kulfi and enjoyed the rich creamy full of nuts Kulfi & Gajjar Ka Halwa cooked in mawa, each bite was so pleasurable.

The hospitable staff takes good care while keeping their traditions intact, you will be offered hand washing at your table.

Honda launches brand new sleek crossover, HR-V to complete ‘Power of 3’ SUV range

Honda Motor Co. Africa and Middle East Office announced the launch of its brand new sleek crossover, the HR-V, at an exclusive event in Abu Dhabi. The event, entitled the ‘Power of 3’ also saw the unveiling  of the updated popular CR-V and Pilot models, which boast bold new designs and features upgrades  , completing the manufacturer’s SUV line up.

Several VIPs and car enthusiasts attended the much-anticipated ‘Power of 3’ event, which saw the unveiling of the HR-V for the first time in the region, since its debut in late 1999

The Honda HR-V marks the presence of an entry level SUV from the Honda Range, this 5 seater vehicle will be available across all GCC Countries and North Africa. The Honda HR-V has been positioned as a fun and sporty SUV which has been designed for life. It is available in three grades for the region and will launch in the showrooms across the GCC by end of February 2019.

The new model to market was accompanied by the refreshed 5th Generation CR-V, which boasts bold new styling, a more premium interior and a host of new features, such as, Hands Free Power Tailagte” and technologies aimed at maintaining the CR-V’s status as the outright benchmark in the highly popular compact SUV segment.

The final model to complete the ‘Power of 3’ line up, which was showcased at the event, was the redesigned and re-engineered 2019 Honda Pilot. This brings with it a long list of upgrades to Honda’s award-winning 8-seat SUV, with changes including more aggressive front styling, the option for a new hands-free power tailgate, major upgrades to available connected-car technology,  with  a new Display Audio touchscreen system. Honda’s comprehensive suite of safety technologies called “Honda Sensing” has been expanded to the 2019 Pilot Touring grade.

Alongside the newly unveiled SUVs was the completely new “NEO CAFÉ CB1000R motorcycle, and a brand new Drive By Wire BF 250 marine engine. The much-loved CB1000R has been completely redeveloped and includes a striking modern CAFÉ racer-inspired design, showcased at the event. The bike has been in huge demand since its launch, outstripping supply, with additional bikes ordered to meet customer demand. Honda also announced the arrival of the CB1000R+ model, which is equipped with many standard features, such as Quick shifter. The new boating season also sees the newly developed Honda’s flagship outboard motors, the BF175, BF200, BF225 and BF250 engines. All engines are equipped with the latest V6 engines featuring mechanical or Drive By Wire system. The BF175 is only equipped with Drive By Wire.

Saiid Kobeisy, a Lebanese fashion designer held an opening of his flagship store in Dubai Mall. The event was successfully attended by VIP guests, celebrities, partners, customers and media.

The brand showcased the Autumn Winter 2018-2019 Couture collection by the title “Wings of Eternity”, a tribute to the Armenian culture via models showcasing the dresses to the customers. The collection encompassed twenty-four looks hand-crafted at the Saiid Kobeisy atelier with every detail beaded and embroidered to perfection. Painted in rich colors ranging from Silk White, Pomegranate Red, Mulberry Blue, Jet black, and adorned with hints of Golden Yellow and Shimmering Grey, every piece is a depiction of the season’s warmth and the opulence of the Armenian culture.

We had sumptuous & tempting dishes at dinner few days back with generous servings. Sushis & Noodles can be customized according to your choice. Sushi making & cooking is done live.

They have both indoor & outdoor arrangement, we opted to sit outside enjoying the weather & food.

In Starters, we opted for Dynmaite Prawns. This delightful generously served platter of big shrimps was amazingly done, richly drenched in dynamite sauce & topped with rice noodles.

Vigo Video announces $50 Million investment to cultivate social media broadcast talent in the Gulf

Announcement commenced during the region’s first Vigo Video Gala hosted at the Burj Khalifa, awarding top regional talent.

Over 200,000 million people watched the live stream of the show to vote for their favorite Vigo broadcasters.

Vigo Video announced a USD $50 million worth of (AED 183,625,000) investment plan in the next year to cultivate talented social media broadcasters in the gulf region. The announcement was made at the Vigo Video Live Streaming Gala at the Armani Privé club in the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

In a bid to attract more talented broadcasters in the region and to enrich the content production on the platform, the investment/broadcasters growing plan is of upmost importance to the platform as plans to invest deeper and grow in the region. According to the plan, Vigo Video will select a “Vigo Star” every month who will have the opportunity to travel across the world with Vigo and take part in international events with world exposure of their own unique style. All users can compete to be a super star on the world-leading platform.

National Geographic Abu Dhabi & Almarai Announce Winner of 2018 ‘Moments’ Competition  

Aspiring photographer Mohammed Al Baraway from Palestine named winner of this year’s competition for his striking image celebrating the theme ‘Stories From Arabia’

 National Geographic Abu Dhabi (NGAD) and Almarai in partnership with Abu Dhabi Media, announced today the winner of the 8th edition of ‘Moments’, its annual regional photography competition to nurture aspiring photographers from around the Arab World at an unveiling event that took place at Burj Khalifa in Dubai and was attended by executives from National Geographic Abu Dhabi, Almarai, the photography community, members of the press as well as other distinguished guests.

Selected from among 40,000 entries and 64 short-listed photos, 22-year old Mohammed Al Baraway from Palestine has been named as winner of this year’s competition, in recognition for his talent and creative interpretation of this year’s theme, “Stories From Arabia.”

This year’s competition witnessed a marked increase in the number of entries from Saudi Arabia, UAE and the rest of the GCC.

The quality of this year’s entries, which captured the wide breadth and diversity of people’s stories, showing people engaged in their daily lives, at home, at work, at prayer as well as people engaged in more formal occasions, were praised by the judging panel which featured Tasneem Al Sultan, an award-winning Saudi photographer who is a professional National Geographic photographer and Mr. Hussam R. Abdulqader, CMO, Almarai.

‘Moments’ is held in partnership with Almarai, the largest vertically integrated dairy company in the world and MENA’s largest food production and distribution company. The competition reflects Almarai’scommitment to foster Arab talent and provide them with the exposure and the possibility to be discovered on such a prominent platform. 

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Hussam R. Abdulqader, CMO, Almarai, said, “We are so proud of this year’s Moments competition, which reflects our commitment to support talent across the region. Year on year, we are seeing photographs with increasingly powerful storytelling. Many of this year’s photographs are living portraits of the stories of the region, historical, cultural and social stories, but above all human stories. This is a true testament that the competition has succeeded in reaching a wide spectrum of serious and highly committed photographers, ambitious to achieving the highest standards,” Al Harthi concluded.

This year’s Grand Prize winner will have their photograph printed in the National Geographic magazine Arabic edition and is heading to a 10-day photography expedition trip to Italy, where he will be mentored by National Geographic expert photographers, in addition to $10,000 worth of photography equipment.

In this year’s competition, each story will carry with it an authentic, detailed and complete description of the story behind the image, which aims to add geographic, social and cultural context to the photo. In addition, the integrity and ethics behind the photo will be of utmost value – keeping up with National Geographic’s Global standards of ensuring images accurately represents cultures, ecosystems, and wildlife.
