Dubai is a hub of multi cultural nations & keeps entertaining its diverse foodie crowd with new dining spots and cuisines from all around the world.
Our recent visit was at the first Japanese and Far Eastern gluten free healthy food café and retail store “KOBEYa” which has opened its doors in Dubai at the Wasl Vita Mall.
They focus on promoting healthy eating habits by serving only an all ingredient gluten free menu with over 50 vegetarian, vegan, non-vegetarian and lactose free varieties that include sensational salads, burgers, healthy meals and desserts. Customers who enjoy a healthy variety of Japanese and Far Eastern cuisine will always find something to delight their taste buds at KOBEYa throughout the day.
The extensive menu also has 10 delicious and refreshing cocktails to choose from.Their beverage menu is quite interesting which consists of fusion & Japanese hot & cold drinks & Floral Teas.
Saffron Lemonade & Tamarind Date drink sounded interesting so we requested the two to start our meals …….. both drinks had the perfect amalgamation of ingredients.
The salads include healthy Veg & Non veg variety. We opted for Herb Chicken Salad which had sliced pan seared chicken breast pieces, dried persimmon with Yuzu herb Dressing.
Our second salad selection was Japanese Pumpkin & Fig Salad …… a platter of tasteful roasted Japanese pumpkin, thyme, honey, caramelized fig, feta, mixed fresh salad, pomegranate seeds & date sauce. This salad platter is the one not to be missed!!
In Main dishes, KOBEYa menu features specially designed burgers with Japanese Kobe Beef, world famous for being the highest quality, healthy and tastiest red meat. Meat free Tofu Burgers, Asian stir fry and Vietnamese spring rolls are all designed to give you a treat.
We had KOBEYa Burger which is homemade 100% Kobe beef patty , sautéed mushroom mix, teriyaki sauce, mixed lettuce & Asian coleslaw along with fries.
Second main course selection was Chicken with Coconut Sauce ……. Pan seared free-range chicken , homemade coconut sauce, vegetable mix, with a choice of white or brown Japanese Nilgata rice.
Like their remaining menu, desserts also include delightful Japanese sweet variety. The Matcha Pudding is irresistible & so is the soft delectable Japanese Cheese Cake.
And to end up I couldn’t leave without having one of the floral teas from their tea menu. Do try their Lavender Tea.
They also have a retail section with in the café. Get your favorite Japanese & far Eastern food items, Teas & other ingredients.
