Popular Lebanese brand Babel introduces new concept to the UAE
Lebanese casual chic café concept, Bebabel has now opened at The Dubai Mall, new fashion extension.
Bebabel was developed as a modern, chic, innovative concept with emphasis on ‘living the moment’ through shared experiences. Originating from the grandiose of the award-winning Lebanese brand ‘Babel’, Bebabel is the ‘casual chic’ café version of Babel that offers a delicious Lebanese breakfast menu and an all-day dining menu, within strikingly elegant surroundings inspired by Lebanese culture.
We experienced an extensive offering of their menu at lunch last week at their launch event. A huge selection of dishes were offered to us.
The café serves mezzes, talatas , salads, grills and a variety of mouthwatering desserts along with its special breakfast menu. One can opt from a variety of Saletti – Bebabel’s healthier take on spaghetti, or choose from the shareable ‘Talatas’ that offers an appetizing choice of three hot or cold mezzes, or bite into a Tarha – a flatbread that comes in a comination of appetizing options.
Here is the detail of what all we had …… Each course is a very good value for money, not only taste but the portions served are just perfect.
Salads / Starters / Hot & Cold Mezzes:
Saletti Bahri ….. sautéed shrimps with diced mangoes & Saletti mixed with ginger dressing.
Jabalieh Salad ….. a mix of aricheh, grilled potato, onions, garlic, lettuce, rocket, purslane, mint & parsley with vinegar dressing.
Others were Tabouleh & Fatoush .
Awarma Fatteh ….. fatteh with awarma fatayer.
Chilli Potatoes ……. very flavorful diced spicy roasted potatoes.
Falafel …. Soft falafels served with vegetables & tartar sauce.
Small portions of these mezzes were so indulgent and perfect tasting with continuous serving of hot freshly made bread which was served throughout.
Hummus Pesto, Bulgur in Pomegranate, plain Hummus, Labneh with Garlic, Moutabbal, Mafroukit Tajen, Aricheh with Thyme, Vine Leaves, Ras Asfour Pesto, Chicken with Hosrom & Ras Asfour Cherry.
Fatayer Spinach, Sambossik, Fried Kebbeh.
Many of the combinations were different & I tried them for the first time.
Mains:
Chicken with Cheese …… Tarha Grilled Chicken with & Halloumi topped with Vegetables. The bread in the base was soft & its toppings made fresh delicious bites.
Beef Shawrama …… Shredded flavorful beef shawrama served with biwaz, pickles, fries & tarator sauce.
Mixed Grill …… mixed lip-smacking platter of kebabas, chicken skewers & meat skewers was too good. It was served with fries & vegetables.
Desserts:
The refined selection of desserts in their menu is so inviting. You won’t settle for one or two.
These ‘melt in the mouth’ bites & unique combinations of flavors & ingredients are admirable.
Mouashaha …… Baklava with Mhallabieh & Cheese served with Mhallabieh icecream. Loved baklava & icecream bites.
Karabij ….. Karabij with Haleweh Ghazel & Pistachio served with Halaweh ice cream. Great Taste!
