Long weekend calls for visiting your favorite dining spots, but most of the time we stay back because of the crowded venues on weekends.
Recently, I came across an Indian restaurant away from the hustle & bustle. The newly opened restaurant serves two cuisine in the same restaurant. So if you are in a mood of eating Chinese food or want to spend your weekend evening in a calm ambiance along with soul food & authentic Indian cuisine, try Gabbar’s Grill in Discovery Gardens.
The restaurant is richly decorated, the theme & wall decorations are diplayed with images of the famous Indian Movie Sholay’s Character Gabbar Singh & other traditional styles.
Interior inspiration comes from Indian heritage, the concept & restaurant theme hails from the region not only in décor but the serving style of food & taste has the original flavors.
So if you really miss back home , this tranquil place in Dubai serves home-like flavors along with true hospitality & you will be lucky enough if You are taken care of by the caring restaurant owner, the ingenious mind behind this entire concept who introduced these culinary styles , by offering different cuisines & dining options that caters the multi cultural crowd in the region.
We were warmly greeted & had our traditional drinks Jal Jeera & Lassi.
Pappads with chutney & pickles were served.
The menu has an extensive variety in starters & main dishes.
Starters:
For starter we had a mixed platter which included very delicious veg & non-veg variety of Mutton Seekh Kebabs, Murgh Angare ……. so flavorful boneless chicken pieces marinated in yogurt & spices. Veg option was mouth melting tasty Paneer Tikkas. Another great tasting item were the Methi Corn Seekh Kebab. Enjoyed this first course a lot!
Mains:
Dal Makhni …… this appetizing, creamy & velvety Dal Makhni was on top of all dishes. We had it with variety of Naan options like garlic, chilli Naan & Lacha Paratha as well.
Chicken Tikka Masala ….. tandoori boneless chicken was cooked in gravy done with tomato & spices was so indulgent.
Bhuna Ghosht ….. perfectly cooked fennel flavored meat in thick gravy.
Dessert:
Carrot Halwa ……. even after getting stuffed with the entire menu, we couldn’t resist trying the luscious creamy Carrot Halwa.
As explained to us by the restaurant owner, the restaurant is more involved in food deliveries in many surrounding areas, catering which also includes indoor & outdoor catering, Party catering, corporate lunches, & lunch boxes etc.
At this initial stage of the restaurant, the talented organizer also arranged interactive cooking classes with a three course set menu at a very reasonable cost. More such offers to come in future!
