SMK (Smoked Meat Kitchen) recently opened its doors for those very fond of eating meat with a distinction in cooking style. At Jumeirah’s La Mer this month, this beach-side dining destination features a menu of smoked meat, created by UK Smoke Master, Luke Tully. From ribs to brisket, using the very best halal certified beef in the market.

We enjoyed our delicious menu sitting by the beach side & views of festive La Mer. My glass of Bluberry drink was a great delight on that sunny but breezy afternoon. So was the Orange & Mango drink , enjoyed sipping the mix fruity flavors and as you pair it with Brisket BBQ chips topped with ja;apenos, red chillies & delightful sauce.
SMK serves up slow-cooked meat smoked over English oak and topped off with homemade rubs to season the cuts. The cooking process is by smoking, rather than direct grilling, which allows the meat to become tender and succulent.
Smoked Brisket Bun/ Red Pickled Chilli & SMK BBQ Sauce …… The signature dish from SMK is their star item …… the Brisket Bun, served with pickled red chilli, which adds a fruity heat to the tender brisket, served in a specially baked bun, while those that prefer a little more meat, can opt for the dry aged beef ribs, topped off with pickled red chilli.
Well I had the most indulging time while sinking my teeth into those meat bites, reminds me of our special Occasion Eid Al Adha, the three days Religious festival & feast each year & we enjoy a lot of meat dishes. So those of you who are very fond of meat bites with fats intact and shreds of juicy , tastier & rich stuffings of meat in a bun, then this is the place for you .
Smoked Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip …… very well immersed in flavors and all thumbs up for these wings, I personally do not like BBQ flavor, but these chicken wings are not the ones done typically by coating it all over with the sauce. My experience …. The wings are perfectly prepared & bites are worth trying!
Smoked Chicken Bun ….. this is another item in their brief menu card, but all what is served is cooked to perfection.
The space at La Mer will has an inviting outdoor seating area, through a smart and simple design space, taking elements of the smoker train as its influence. The natural and minimal interior allows the food to take centre stage, while furnishings are simplistic and urban in look and feel.
The uncomplicated menu prices start from AED 35, for BBQ glazed smoked chicken wings with a blue cheese dip and just AED 90 for a smoked beef rib with celery coleslaw. Smoked Brisket Bun is AED 50.
