Ashiana which means home serves authentic Indian food, the culinary team at Ashiana presents a menu that showcases the rich heritage of India. Keeping in mind the diversity of cultures,& to serve the customers in the region, they have come up with a new idea of introducing Indo-Arab cuisine in menu.

We attended a special preview dinner where we tried great tasting dishes from the Indo-Arab menu. Each dish carries its own distinctive flavor. Indian recipes combined with Arabic spices are a great experience with twist & taste.

This new menu will be available to try at Ashiana from next month.
Here I am sharing the detail of the menu …..

Our dinner had a set menu which included many courses …….

We started munching on the Pappar ( Popadums) with Chuttneys.
Pani Puri shots were served with a twist of mint foam on puris & mixed fruit juice instead of the tamarind water.

Soups & Starters:
Dejaj Shorba ….. delicious clear chicken broth with small chicken chunks tempered with coriander leaves & cumin.

Tandoori Sumac Paneer Tikka …. Cottage cheese(paneer) squares coated with Arabic spices were great in taste.

Harissa Tandoori Chooza ….. again a delicious combination of Indian & Arabic ingredients. Chicken was marinated in Arabic spices served on a bed of Moghrabieh Methi Malai & Mint Garlic Sauce.

Mains:
Chicken Tikka Shish Taouk …. Cubed Tandoori Grilled Chicken was so soft, flavorful & great to go with the accompaniment… Dal Kichdi. I always love eating tandoori chicken with naan or chappati, but here liked the change, it was served with Khichdi. But I also added the Mint Raita along with it to double the delight.

Ras El Hanout Masala Lamb Chops ….. this dish had a Moroccan touch in it, Tandoori Cooked Lamb Chops were tossed in masala gravy which tasted mildly sweet.

Batata Harra Masala ….. a treat for vegetarians, sautéed potatoes with coriander red pepper, garlic & lemon juice with onion tomato masala.

Chermoula Sea Bass …… So the seafood lovers will enjoy these tasty fillets of Sea Bass with Tamarind Curry Sauce Aloo Jeera. Another must try item from the menu.

Breads:
Assorted pieces of Sumac Naan & Zaatar & Garlic Roti are available to try with curries.

Desserts:
Aseeda Bobar …… A traditional Arabic sweet made with pumpkin & wheat flour served with ( Carrot) Gajjar Ka halwa. This is the specialty of their desserts where two great tasting dessert are offered in one serving. But the combination that are done are tantalizingly delicious.
Gulab Jamun Umali …… famous traditional Egyptian dessert Umali is mixed with Indian sweet Gulab Jamuns….. It was amazingly delicious …. You need to experience this one!
