My recent experience of mini staycation was in Mecure Grand Hotel, winner of Arabian Travel Awards 2017 & a property affiliated with Accor Group . A very smooth drive towards AlAin takes you to the top of Jebel Hafeet where the stunning property of Mercure Grand welcomes you.
Enough parking is available hotel entrance has a touch of Arabic culture and as you walk in , surely be impressed by the magnificent interior of the vast & wide entrance Lobby. It should actually not be called a Lobby but a hall with an extensive spread and various small seating arrangements. Out of their five restaurans/cafés , three are connected from this hall.
Another impressive element is the lush green foliage done on the walls. With a very calm and neutral color scheme of upholstery. The main entrance is done so interesting.
The staff is caring & welcoming.
Orient Café is situated within the entrance Lobby of Mercure Grand Hotel. Enticing ambiance with off-white comfy sofas, coffee area, a small counter with a display of delectable pastries. Surrounded by the lush green foliage provides a fresh feeling. We opted to have our lunch in this laid-back atmosphere & well attended by the friendly staff at Orient Café.
The menu has a good addition of starters, salads, sandwiches, wraps, & grills. The tempting grills in the menu evoked our carnivorous feeling.
So we opted for Grilled Lamb Chops …. very flavorful & succulent four pieces of chops served with French fries & grilled veggies.
And Oriental Mixed Grill which included lamb chops, lamb Kebab, Shish Tawok, Shish Tikka with French fries and Khubus bread.
Mutton Biryani was another delicious dish done to perfection with enough mutton pieces & served with raita ( yogurt), Pickles & Papadums.
