• Govinda’s Restaurant, known for its healthy vegetarian food, hosted its Iftar Preview on 10th May, 2017 for food & lifestyle bloggers and media at Jumeirah. . •Govinda’s have created a special 3 course menu, which keeps the health check, by keeping it all under 700 calories • Priced at AED76, the menu offers both Indian and Italian cuisines; and has a beverage, salad, a choice of starters, 2 main course and a dessert.

Traditionally Iftar is renowned for being an elaborate affair and overindulgence is not uncommon. But in order to make the most of the spirit and principles of Ramadan, balance and self-control should be observed. This would also be much healthier for the mind and body.
Keeping this in mind, Govinda’s – a healthy Indian restaurant chain in Dubai; has created a special menu for this Iftar. This delectable vegetarian menu is made with finest of ingredients and in healthiest way. The spread offers a choice of beverage, salad, an appetiser, 2 main course and a dessert. Our menu was an amazing spread of balanced dishes :
Drinks …. In drinks we had Apple Cooler & Glass of Grape. Both are very good thirst quenchers and energizing , exactly what you need in Ramadan.
Salad … A bowl of mixed vegetable salad .
Appetizers ….. Paneer Lemon Tikka & Tandoori Aloo. Enjoyed the soft flavorful chunks of paneer tikka and delicious tandoori aloo were perfectly done.
Main Course …. Kadai Baby Corn, Daal Fry, Risotto Alamandra, Whole Wheat Peperoncino Pizza. Now you need to try each of these to know how tasty and light each recipe is. Baby corn Kadai is a mix of baby corn chunks with veggies in mild gravy.
Daal with a thin consistency is an all time favorite in hot summer months and of course as mentioned earlier we do need to have light but healthy meals at iftar, so daal is perfect to go with Bajra Roti which was served warm.
Risotto is a must try item creamy and delicious but again healthy !
Small Pizza has a rich spread of cheese and veggies , will not give you a stuffed feeling even if you eat it all.
Dessert …. They have prepared an amazing combination of date ice-cream, so nutritious as it has dates, along with milk which is a requirement after fast. But if you still want to be with a more lighter feeling , they also have Daliya kheer in their menu which is light, energizing & fulfills your requirement for sweet thus making your meal a healthy one!
Another great move by Govinda’s is their Kindness Fridge which is kept outside. No left over food is getting wasted here. At the end of the day it is brought to the fridge and people in need are getting benefitted from it.
