Gr8 Women Awards 2017 – Dubai

Gr8 Women Awards,the  popular annual Awards event  entered successfully into its 7th year .  A platform to honour women achievers from all across the word. Keeping in mind the diversity and women being selected from various countries of the world Dubai fits ideally to host such a dazzling event.


Anu Ranjan, Founder – Gr8 Entertainment said earlier “This will be the 7th year in a row we will be hosting the GR8 Women Awards in Dubai. It is the biggest International platform for women where beauty, fashion & talent meet in the form of women achievers from across the world. There will be some breathtaking performances & fashion shows amidst some of the top women being honored for their contribution in their respective fields. We are the only women’s platform in the world, which brings together achievers from diverse fields such as corporate, glamour, entertainment, fashion, social work, sports & health. Dubai has the unique distinction of being the melting pot of cultures & we couldn’t have chosen a better venue to bring these diverse women together on one platform. Women have straddled many roles and have come out shining despite the odds. A society which gives women its rightful place by honoring & respecting her contribution, is a balanced & progressive society.”


Anu Ranjan in person is ingenious &  affectionate. A very cheerful personality, she  hosted the event while warmly  welcoming  her guests.

The event was successfully coordinated by the very talented Aanya Aggarwal. Founder of Chocolate Entertainment and Masala Award winner for being  the youngest Entrepreneur.  With all the liveliness in her nature  her potent  & smart moves makes all her events a huge success. Here I extend my wishes for the bride-to-be and a happiest prosperous life always to the lovely couple.


   The Red Carpet event was packed with celebrities from Bollywood  like Aliaa Bhatt, Anushka Ranjan, Vaani Kapoor, Farah Khan, Esha Gupta, Lulia Vantur, Gulshan Grover & Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan. Additionally some special guests & women achievers  from UAE.



 Alia Bhatt  mesmerized the audience while she made her entry  for the awards. She thanked her mother and the founder of the Gr8 women’s awards, Anu Ranjan whom she respects a lot she sayes.

While replying to my question …Any message  for the women today ….. she said ‘’ Be yourself, its your life, do what you want to do and live it your way’’.


Lindsay Lohan was honoured for her work with children and her success as an actress.




Farah Khan was awarded for choreography and direction. It was also announced by Farah Khan and Mr. Shashi Ranjan that soon in Dubai they are going to start FKCC Farah khan Choreography Course.

My question to Farah was …. Any message for women today where she replied ‘’ They can be what they want, they can do what they want. Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do . She said if I can manage all this having three kids then anyone can do it’’.


The  event included  few  fashion shows showcasing famous designer’s dresses like Sunaina jain & Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor where attractive Anushka Ranjan walked as showstopper followed by  awards and musical performances. Lulia Vantur also made her appearance as show stopper. Farhana Bodi walked the ramp while opening the show.

 Among the women being honoured were Mariam Othman, co-founder and director of Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre, for her contribution to the field of child care; Zeenat Jaffar, managing director of Z Haus, for the business of beauty; Laila Al Meqbali for versatility in the world of entertainment; Ruqaiya Mustafa Hemani for strategy management marketing; and there was a special mention of Shaikha Hend Al Qasimi for her business endeavours. Falguni Mehta was also amongst the special guests. Tamara Al Gabani received ‘Style Icon of The Year’ award.
