We were invited for the newly launched Thai-Chinese themed night on Monday. An array of authentic Thai & Chinese dishes were lined up. The amazing variety makes it hard to try all dishes in one visit. Chef at Live cooking stations makes succulent dishes combining ingredients like fresh meat and veggies of your choice.
Mobile trolleys carrying hot fresh Dimsums,Whole Duck, salads and special desserts is another specialty of the night.
Thai cooking is more about preparing food using natural herbs and ingredients. This was evident from the lined up clay pots where curries were being simmered at the spot , the natural flavors & essence of clay pots is well immersed in the curries.
Soups on offer were Crab and Sweet Corn Soup & Tom Yam Gai Soup. I tried Tom Yam soup which was a clear soup with mushrooms and veggies , great flavor!
Starters: Lemongrass Fish Skewers, Prawn Cakes, Pandan Chicken. Boneless fish wrapped around green bamboo stick was soft and juicy.
Salads/Starters/Pickles: Pomelo and Grapefruit, Crispy Tofu Salad, Sesame Chicken, Thai Beef Salad, Century Egg, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Chinese Pickles, Crispy Fried kangKong, Crunchy Noodles. Salads are also offered on mobile trolleys, from the trolley I had a mix chicken and veggie salad along with black sticky rice.
Mains: Thai Steamed Fish, Mapo Eggplant, Poo Pad Pong Garee, Szechuan Chicken, Thai Pineapple Fried Rice, Beef Pad See Ew, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Chicken Hokkien Noodles.
Some delicious curries prepared in clay pots were Thai Pumpkin Curry, Thai Basil Beef, Green Seafood Curry, Gang Kiew Wan Gai, Kaeng Phed Ped Yang.
Loved the flavors & spices of curries and other dishes, all tasted very well.
Desserts: Like the main dishes and salads, desserts had a good variety too, the ceamy velvety Pandan Crème Brulee is at the top of all desserts here. But again each dessert has a distinctive flavor and not be missed.
