Chef has introduced his new menu at Medleys Restaurant Pullman Hotel Dubai Creek. For those who have tried the Friday Indian Buffet nights earlier at Medleys , can now indulge in the simillar mouthwatering flavors but the dishes are new in addition to some Signature recipes by Chef Sweety Singh.
According to Chef Sweety Singh…. He believes in preparing food with pure indulgence and thoughtfulness. For Punjabi cuisine, people have a concept of very rich & oily food which is against the health requirement. Chef has tried to change this concept . His traditional recipes from Punjab are done in a healthy style, which have all the spices and ingredients by keeping a balance in preparation. He believes in slow cooking of meat so the flavors are well immersed , instead of building up a dish with heavy creams and extra pastes and nuts, he tries to retain simplicity & natural flavors in dishes.
Last Friday we had a warm welcome by the courteous team of Medleys Restaurant. Restaurant has a calm but lively ambiance ,inviting atmosphere , live stations, grill counters, and staff takes a very good care of you, their Indian themed attire look so appealing.
There is so much to enjoy at the buffet, you get a nostalgic feeling, many items remind you of the home- made stuff which you only get to try when you happen to be back home. Those tantalizing chutneys, pickles, Pani Puri counter where you can have as much pani puri as you want. After a longtime I enjoyed mango chutney, podina( mint) chutney , etc
We started with pani puri and papdi chaat from the chat station. The lively staff happily customize your plates according to your choice.
Daal Shorba & Chicken Shorba are soups in the menu.
Salads as usual had a range of all fresh green , Mediterranean and many types of mix salads.
Quality selection has been done in main dishes, both veg and non-veg dishes are in the menu. Chef’s Signature dishes this time are … Chowk Ki Mattar Makai ki Tikki ( Green Pea Cutlets), Bhatti ka Meat , Numberdaar Meat ki Seekhain, Santrii Murgh ke Tikkay ( orange flavored Chicken Pieces),Matar Chawal ( Green Pea Rice) and Masar ( black Lentils ).
Other dishes were Kacchari Karela , Aloo Wadiyan, Matar Paneer, Sarson ka Saag & Chat Pata Paneer Tikka. These vegetarian specialties carried their true flavors.
I tried Wadiyan after a long time, and enjoyed the softness and taste of these dumplings.
Non-Veg dishes included Macchi Tari Wali , Qeema Anda, Bhuna Meat Masalah, Dahi Wala Murgh & very delicious Pulao. Lamb Pulao is another delightful recipe by the chef.
You will also indulge in the flavors of Amritsari Fish Pakora.
Desserts : Chef’s Special…. After filling up a lot with all those yummy dishes, still magic of chef’s dessert will drive you towards the aromatic and colorful corner of sweet delicacies. Just like the main course , Chef has his own secrets of making these desserts extra special in taste. Enjoyed eating Gajar ka Halwa, Ras Malai, Burfi with a twist with Rooh Afza & Coconut flavors, Vermicelli Kheer, Crispy Crunchy Sweet jalebi, Shahi Tukray & Gulab Jamun.
Other than this Pastry Chef had his own selection of some amazing desserts like Dark & White Chocolate Mousse, Vanilla Mousse, Brownies, Tiramisu , Cherry Mouse, Raspberry Lemon Dome, Pear/Honey Shooter, Chocolate Mousse Cake, Chocolate Ivory, Coffee Caramel, Blackberry, Strawberry Croquantine, Mango Custard, Sago Pudding, & cut fruits.
A lot to try and make it a memorable feast night .
