Three partners Velisha, Manish and Jayant are successfully running their restaurant in JLT.
The food served here is modern Indian with fusion recipes. With her Mumbai roots, Velisha is the creative force in the kitchen, and all three have crafted and banded together to make Spice Kraft one of the great Indian eateries still keeping the traditions intact. Food and drinks to some extent are refined which is the requirement of the crowd of foodies from various origins.
This small family has a bunch of extremely passionate people who have put in a lot of effort to ensure every minute detail is taken care of so that diners have a great experience.
We experienced a simillar amazing dinner experience. We received a very kind invitation from the management, I was excited much for the review as I was really looking forward to try Gujrati & Punjabi delicacies, no doubt food was over and above our expectations.
Being myself so much involved in cooking in previous years, I can better understand how strenuous it is at times to keep creating new recipes out of limited ingredients, specially in this case when they only use vegetables and paneer prepared with different twists, the dishes are truly delicious and full of flavors.
We enjoyed from start till the session of dessert.
We were offered fresh juices upon our arrival, we opted for fresh watermelon and the very refreshing Ginger Mojito … as the name says it was refreshing, quenching and at the same time good for digestion. A mix of ginger, mint, lime & ginger ale.
The colorful set of chuttneys and pappar were served to us before our meals.
Some Gujrati Delicacies:
DHOKLA, KHANDVI, PATRA …. All these were so mouth melting soft and flavorful. We have not tried these all from the original place, but I am sure it must be the same authentic flavor. Sandwich dhokla is also amazing in terms of taste and presentation stuffed with green chutney.
VEG KEBAB PLATTER … it was an assorted big platter of mixed barbequed items, each one had its own distinctive flavors.
Bharwan Aloo Firdausi…… richly stuffed yummy spicy bites of quartered potatoes which were steamed .
Tandoori Mushrooms …. Spicy, aromatic grilled mushrooms marinated in tandoori masala, so tasty!
Tandoori Paneer Tikka ….. very delicious soft chunks of marinated grilled paneer tikkas.
Vegetable Seekh Kebab ….. So perfectly done mixed vegetable kebabs with hints of coriander amazing flavor to eat with or without chuttneys.
Chilli Paneer ….. This was an amazing recipe with Chinese flavors , soft paneer chunks richly coated in chilli gravy.
Veg Patiala …. I devoured this dish , enjoyed to the fullest with both garlic bread and fresh tandoori rotis. I could not took my hands off from the thick creamy tomato & cashew gravy. Inside the gravy were pappad rolls which were smartly stuffed with vegetables. It was too good.
SPICE KRAFT PUNJABI THALI 22
Yes this is the name you should keep in mind if you are in a mood to try traditional north Indian varieties. This special thali has an appetizer, two vegetables , palak paneer, curry with pakoras, rice, raita, salad, tandoori roti and jalebi in dessert. It was a very wholesome thali.
The most luscious dessert we had here was the gorgeous combination of Khoya & Gulkand ….. I will definitely visit to try Gulkand Khoya Shooter.
Others were the soft Gulab Jamun and the mouth melting Shahi Gajar Halwa …. I must say they produce some great recipes Gajar Halwa is one of those.
Their outdoor seating is quite interesting with lake views, great for upcoming cooler weather. Interior is very colorful , restaurant is small but comfortable place for families and groups. The cheerful and active staff Salim was well informed of the whole menu and guided us well.
