My recent visit to AbuDhabi was a busy day packed with restaurant reviews/food tasting one after the other.
My first stop was at Venetian village, a place with a few eateries situated besides the magnificent Ritz Carlton alongwith the liveliness and beauty of AbuDhabi Canal makes it a favorable place for foodies, families & friends to hang around.
The day spent was a memorable one,I got to meet some AbuDhabi bloggers. We were invited for a blogger’s meetup at the very popular Punjab Grill. They have introduced their business lunch, a special menu at very reasonable rate of 95 AED.
Let me start with the aspect that attracts me the most….. the venue with a view and alfresco dining arrangement…. I am sure going to plan my second visit during winters for great food, canal view and beauty of Ritz Carlton.
Punjab Grill serves Indian specialties , quite spacious restaurant with a very decent color scheme, neutral shades have been used with delicate drapes.
Staff gave us a very warm welcome our drinks were served , mine was refreshing pomegranate drink.
Variety of chuttneys/dips and papars were served before the meals. Some dips were new to me like pickled black chickpeas & labneh with burnt garlic. Others were sundried tomato dip and home made pickle. Fenugreek flavor papar was amazing.
AMOUSE BOUCHE: A very different recipe of fried onion pakora, pani puri sorbet with some dry mango powder & mint.
1.Vegetable Samosa Chaat
2.Dal Ka Shorba
We opted for vegetable samosa chaat and water melon slider. Samosa chaat was the typical tangy and yummy chaat. Watermelon slider was great to eat combined with sprouts, mint and water melon foam on top.
PALATE CLEANSER: We enjoyed devouring on mixed berry sorbet which was served as palate cleanser before the mains.
1.Spiced Crusted Macchi …….. it was baked fish served on a bed of asparagus with porcini korma & mushroom sauce & green apple foam, impressive recipe!
2.Chicken tikka trio ……. Soft and juicy chunks of chicken murgh malai, classic, chicken and chicken with a marination of mint and coriander…… all three were truly delicious each marination gives a new flavor to chicken.
3.Meat Punjab grill …… this was their signature recipe, tender mutton simmered with root vegetables and spices. The serving was more than enough for a person. The gravy has mild spices.
All these mains are accompanied with Pudina Paratha, Garlic Naan, Safed Chawal & Jeera rice according to the choice.
Sophistication is much admirable! This was the second palate cleanser before we indulged in the desserts.
Dew drops …. It was an adorable item, fresh tender coconut water balls served on spoons with glaze of honey, hints of ginger, black pepper.
I can still feel the velvety smooth milk of rasmalai it was amazingly delicious. Reduced condensed milk with soft Ras malai , I have eaten the best Ras malai here at Punjab Grill.
Gulb jamuns were also equally full of taste and spongy as it should be.
Thanks Punjab Grill for having us and serving the lavish lunch.
